Enfield’s Great Duck Race
Enfield’s Great Duck Race will be held on Sunday July 13, 2014 on Freshwater Stream, adjacent to the Town of Enfield’s Fourth of July weekend celebration.
Enfield’s Fourth of July celebration draws several thousands of people throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts over the course of three days. Coupled with the festivities celebrating the Fourth of July, this “Great Duck Race” has the potential to draw a large amount of people, showing their support for Enfield Raider Football Gridiron and SafeGrad by adopting a duck for the race.
There will be prizes for the first ducks to cross the finish line one duck at a time as well as prizes for Best Costumes at varying age levels, etc. The number of available prizes is dependent on the number of donations. The odds of winning depend on the number of entrants and the number of prizes.
The Great Duck Race 2014 will benefit Enfield High Football, SafeGrad for the school year 2014-2015 and also provide Great Duck Race scholarships to eligible seniors of the Class of 2015 who have volunteered with the race.
We are looking for juniors from the Class of 2015 to assist with any/all aspects of the race: selling, promoting, and actual race day help. Please contact Pat and/or Barbara Crowley to sign up to help. You may contact them via the Enfield’s Great Duck Race Facebook page, calling/texting Barbara at 860-202-4874 or email at email@example.com
