Attention all Enfield High School parents and students. We anticipate a lot of traffic during the morning drop-off time on Route 5 and while driving down the driveway to the school. An alternative drop off location is to drive down Nutmeg Street, take a left on Pearl Street, and then drive up the back driveway to the back entrance. There is a bus loop directly on top of the hill that you can access to drop off your child. All doors in that area will be open until 7:40 am. After this time, you need to drop your child off at the main entrance. If you drop your child off in the front of the building, you may either use the bus loop directly in front of the main office, or use the bus loop near the new STEAM wing. As a reminder, first block will begin promptly at 7:26 am. There is no longer a homeroom period, so please give yourself enough time to be prompt for the first block of the day. You can start dropping your child off at 7:00 am. The best option is that your child take the bus to school in the morning and in the afternoon.
In the afternoon during student pick up, I am asking that parents do not enter school grounds to pick up your child until 2:15 pm. We have thirty five buses to dismiss in a timely manner and no cars will be able to exit or enter the bus loop areas until all buses are clear. All buses will have exited the property by 2:15 pm. If you happen to come prior to the buses leaving, you will be directed to the staff parking lot near the STEAM wing. Thank you for your understanding in this matter to keep all students safe.
Finally, all students who drive to school will have three options to park. The majority of parking will be in the main parking lot directly in front of the main office. In addition, students may park along the hill, facing the tennis courts, near the new STEAM Wing. Finally, we have overflow parking in the back of the building in the lower lot near the athletic fields. Students can walk up the hill on the brand new walkway and enter the back entrance. Students are not allowed to park in the staff parking lots which are near the STEAM Wing, directly behind the school, and the parking spaces behind the gymnasium.
Thank you for your understanding and I look forward to seeing all students on September 6th.
