The Seal of Biliteracy is a recognition given by the Enfield Public Schools, in conjunction with the Connecticut State Department of Education. This distinction states that an eligible student has completed all English Language Arts requirements for graduation, in addition to demonstrating proficiency in all modes of communication (listening, reading, writing, and speaking), in a language other than English, at a level that is equal to or exceeding Intermediate Mid according to the ACTFL proficiency guidelines. Those students who successfully complete all requirements, as set forth by the CSDE and Enfield Public Schools, will receive a seal affixed to their diploma, as well as recognition of earning the Seal of Biliteracy on their transcript.
