• The 10th Annual State Police Youth Week is being held from Sunday, July 19th to Friday, July 24th at the State Police Training Academy in Meriden, CT for any Juniors interested in being a State or Municipal Police Officer. The cost is $125. Cadets will experience the daily activities of recruit training. Further information and applications are available in the Guidance Office or Career Center. Required fee and paper work must be submitted by June 12th.

·          All students who are scheduled to take the math DPT on May 21st need to complete the math DPT review packet.

·          All students who are scheduled to take the math District Performance Test in May need to get a review packet from their current math teacher.

·          Senior prom tickets go on sales starting Thursday, May 7th during all lunches. The cost is $55 per person and $110 per couple. The prom is May 22nd at Maneeley’s. Save the date!

·          The senior prom promise contest ends on May 6th @ 2:00pm. The contest will pick one male and one female winner. The letters must be a minimum of 100 words.

·          The senior picnic payments are to be made to Mrs. Stone, room 110. Cost is $20. Great food, terrific drawings and loads of fun!! June 5th. Payments will be taken thru the 3rd week of May. Pay before May 7th and get a ticket for a special drawing.

·          Drama production, Frankenstein’s Unbound starts  May 1 and May 2 at 7 p.m. and May 3 at 1:30 in the auditorium

·          AP Exams start May 4th and go through May 12th. See guidance for tests and times.

·          Don’t forget, there will be a drawing for a second iTouch for the month of April. Open an account or increase your account balance by at least $50 this month to get your entry into the May 15 drawing.

        Please stop by the 360 Credit Union and donate $1 to help fight MS this month.

·          Guidance: Attention Juniors:

·          You are invited to attend a College Panel for Juniors on Wednesday, May 20th, in the auditorium during period 3.  Please pick-up a College Panel Flyer from your homeroom teacher.  If you completed the Seminar Registration Form from the Junior Planning Breakfast and you indicated on the form that you are interested in attending the 2-Year and 4-Year College Panel, you are pre-registered and will receive a pass in homeroom on the day of the panel.  A list of students already pre-registered is posted on the window in guidance and was sent to your homeroom teacher.  If you are pre-registered and do not want to attend, please see Mrs. Rabinovitz in guidance to remove your name from the list before May 18th.  If you have not pre-registered and would like to attend, please complete the bottom portion of the flyer and return it in the Guidance Office by May 18th.  Attendance will be taken during this event.  If you have any questions, please see your counselor. 

·          Any sophomores or juniors, who were invited to attend the Asnuntuck High School Partnership Program on Thursday, May 21st at 12:25 PM (Period 6) in Room B105, will need to pre-register in the Guidance Office by Tuesday, May 19th (by the end of 1st period) if you plan to attend.   

                The Blood drive sponsored by Teen Leadership will be held on Tuesday May                       
                5th  in the  back gym.

·         Seniors, remember if ou pay for the Sr. Picnic $20 before May 4th, you are put into a special drawing.
The Connecticut Army National Guard is holding a Career Fair on May 14th & 15th at the Army Aviation Support Facility in Windsor Locks starting at 9:00a.m. Soldiers from the different units such as Medical, Combat, Infantry, Engineers, Military Police and Aviation will be available to answer questions along with equipment and take home literature. If interested, sign up by April 30th in the Career Center.

·          The deadline for the June 6th SAT test being held at Fermi H.S is May 5th. For information on sign up stop by the Career Center or Guidance office.

·          May Riley Memorial Scholarship is available and due into Guidance May 8th. You must be enrolled in a 4 yr. college and major in education.

·          Sophomores and juniors, CREC is offering inter-district residential programs from July 6th through July 31st at Saint Joseph College for American Politics, Contemporary Global Issue, Health and Medical Science, Biotechnology and Eastern Connecticut State Univ. for future teachers. The application deadline is May 1st

·          EHS Common Scholarship Application is in Guidance and is due May 6. It contains several scholarships that you may qualify for.

·          Fourth of July Celebration Scholarship is now in and available until May 18th. Stop in and apply

      ·          Information on summer camps is available in the Career Center including the following.

·          Springfield College is offering summer day camps in soccer, basketball, softball, football and athletic training.

·          Saint Joseph College is offering summer classes in creative writing, Culinary Arts, Arts, Dance and ESI.

·          Quinnipiac University is offering The Television News Institute for students interested in broadcast journalism.

·          Johnson and Wales is offering a three day career exploration program and summer education programs in the Culinary Arts.

·          ACC College Foundation is offering approximately 13 scholarships thru Asnuntuck Community College. You must be Enrolled and attending ACC.

·          Seniors: If you are interested in applying for admission to Western New England College or Bay         
        Path College
and would like an    application fee waiver see Mrs. Chapin in the Career Center.

·          The Steinert Family Grant Scholarship is still available in Guidance until May 10th. It’s for a former student of Nathan Hale Elementary school.

·          St. Martha’s School H.A. S. Scholarship 2009 is available in Guidance until May 13th. Stop in for their application.

·          H.B. Stowe PTO Scholarship is still available thru May 6th in Guidance. Former students may apply.

·          Parkman PTO Scholarship is still available thru May 8th into Guidance. Former students may apply.

·          St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church-Ann Lundy Mem. Scholarship is available and due in Guidance by May 11th. Students must be enrolled in a 2 or 4 yr. college, and maintain a B- and demonstrates leadership thru community service and volunteerism.

  1. We want all students to dress in a manner that reflects pride in and respect for themselves, their school, and their community. We want you to wear clothing that promotes a positive, safe, and non-disruptive environment.
  2. Don’t wear see-through or revealing clothing, tank tops, and spaghetti straps.

      Also, any shirts, blouses, and/or torn or slashed pants which reveal the abdomen, chest, back, or undergarments.
