Volunteer/Skill Development Opportunities

These options provide educational opportunities that promote student development as life-long learners in a dynamic, technological, and global economy as defined by the department of Career Technical Education (CTE). Students who complete volunteer hours in affiliation with Enfield High School Career Center will have documented experience to be used as a valuable line on their resume.

Johnson Memorial Hospital Volunteers
Students can see Mrs. Botteron or Ms. Ceniglio to learn how to apply for this opportunity. Volunteers at JMH will be able to gain experience in one of the following areas: Cardiac Rehabilitation, Diagnostic Imagining, Obstetrics, Medical/Surgical, Physical Medicine, Nutrition Aid, Emergency Department, Pastoral Visitor, Same Day Services, and the Cancer Center. Students interested in Business, Marketing, or Retail can intern in the Gift Shop. Students will not have direct contact with patients but will see much of the inner workings of the hospital and act in a supporting role.

Cox TV Studios

This is an opportunity for students to learn all areas of television production at Cox TV Studios on 5 Niblick Road in Enfield. Students are responsible for their own transportation. Interested students should see Mrs. Botteron or Ms. Ceniglio in the Career Center. They are currently looking for students to learn while assisting with the Monday night productions.

Apprenticeships in the Technical and Trade Industries
Students interested in pursuing a career in the trade industry should consider investigating a "pre-apprenticeship". The following links provide more information on apprenticeships in CT. This option is under construction and would be determined on a case-by-case basis. Interested students should see Mrs. Botteron or Ms. Ceniglio in the Career Center to discuss this further.
